Welcome to our site showcasing the wonderful animation projects created by the 6th, 7th and 8th grade students of Brigantine North Middle School. Capitalizing on the students' fascination of the art and science of animation, we decided to create a little animation magic of our own...hence

The activities on this site are the end product of a collaborative initiate between the Computer Lab and the Art Room in an effort to create a learning environment simulating today's technology workplace. We strongly feel that using technology in a creative and challenging way, inspires our students to utilize technology to enhance their learning experience. You will see three different projects: 6th Grade FunnyBones- animationed skeletons created using cardboard and a digital camera, the 7th Grade Claymation animated shorts and the 8th Grade Animated GIFs. Each activity and end product was designed to help students understand the scientific principle of persistent vision. Of course, the understanding of the power of humor in visual communication was a bonus.

The students thoroughly enjoyed the learning process. One had to only step into the classrooms and watch the students experience the magic of animation to
appreciate the creativity and hardwork of the children.

We hope you find the activities, student samples and lesson plans included on this site informative and helpful. May they inspire you to create, generate and animate magical ideas of your own!
