The MUSIC DEPARTMENT

WELCOME TO THE MUSIC ROOM.

Every student in the Elementary School has music class once a week. Here they experience music through singing, listening, playing instruments, and dancing. In the primary grades, with Mrs. King, there is an emphasis on the use of the singing voice and singing on pitch, as well as feeling, playing and moving to the steady beat.

As the students move on to Mrs. Morey, singing continues to be emphasized as they begin to learn to read music. Our instrumental teacher, Mrs. Elsayed, offers violin lessons to 3rd graders, and instrumental band lessons to 4th graders. All students get the chance to perform in our Winter Concerts, as well as other programs throughout the year.

As music teachers, we all hope that our students develop a love of music and will consider themselves successful music makers. We believe that the love of music is a gift that will last a lifetime.
