Last year in Art the children learned about Costa Rica, immigrating to the United States of America and the decades of American history. Below are some samples of the children's art.

Self Portraits

Our first project of the year was to draw ourselves. These wonderful drawings were then transferred onto magnets for the parents to purchase. These proceeds from this PTA fundraiser pay for our annual Art Night celebration.

Costa Rica

Our journey began in Costa Rica. We learned about a boy from Costa Rica named Manuel, who immigrates to America. When he arrives in the States, he attends school. During his school time, he learns about the decades of American History of the past 100 years. Before he learns about America, he shares his culture with us.

American History of the 20th Century

1900-1920's

Manuel learned about the early 1900's by experiencing the inventions, clothing, entertainment and fads of the times.

American History

1920's - 1940's

Manuel continued his studies of American History by learning about the 1920-1940's. During this time, he experienced the age of JAZZ and the BLUES, talked about World War II, learned about Flappers and Walt Disney.
